2000 ZZ502 Big Block - 'Black Cash'

EBossHoss.com sold this bike new in 2000 so we know it and it's owner well. Here is what he had to say about 'Cash' -- and I couldn't have said it any better. Here are the pics and essential facts Jon... 1. 2000 502 c.i. 2. If this thing were a chic, it would be a princess of some desert kingdom somewhere. Oil & filter change every 2000 miles, tranny service at 500 miles, again at 5,000 and again at start of this season. 3. Never and I mean never ridden in rain or wet pavement. Has never seen the north side of 80 mph much to the chagrin of my mechanic who is always preaching Speed! 4. Has never overheated - even in this God forsaken KY summer weather. Runs just south of midpoint 180 on the water temperature. If you idle it through town, the hottest it gets is barely north of the midpoint 180 or around 200. 5. Added a choke - two pumps of the throttle and two quick hits of the starter and it comes to life, summer or winter. You can't beat the start of a Chevy motor. I don't have to describe the imperceptible touch of the starter needed to fire it up when warm - it's amazing - can't even hear the starter! Sounds like top fueler exploding to life. Speaking of which, new starter at 1,000 miles, the boys in Dyersburg turned me on some slick side post mounted starter as they said the factory original sometimes gave folks fits. I didn't give it a chance to fail and replaced it. Ditto with the distributor. Replaced it at around 2,000 miles as there was a faint rubbing sound in the old one. Dyersburg said the internal pieces of the factory original had nylon fasteners which was prone to fail on occasion, replaced it with the top of the line GM replacement for 502s. 6. To say it starts, runs, reverses, shifts and brakes flawlessly smooth is a gross understatement. This bike runs smoother than my BMWs. 7. Hand washed every other weekend; waxed and polished twice a year. 8. Longest trip it has ever been on was from Lexington to Louisville for bike night. The bike is so recognizable in Louisville now, last Thursday, no shit, two motorcycle police officers who I know from Churchill gave me an escort to the local biker hang-out. They said it reminded them of when the president comes to town, it was quite a sight with two full dress police Harleys running side by side leading the Boss down the Waterson Expressway. Cars parted like the Red Sea. 9. Added the chrome valve covers and chrome dash inserts on the tank. 10. Has the reserve tank under the seat, run dry every other tank of gas to keep it clean. 11. Gas and air filter at 1,000, 5,000 and start of this season.
