"Hey Jon--This is a very very early epicenter. I think its the first mini Epicenter I had built. Pretty cool to see. I refurbed it once in 2011.I can get the handles, pocket clip, and pivot hardware done. I'll also do the blade flats and ricasso but I cannot do the bevels. I do not have the marking stencils that were used on this and the new stencils are different.
That's ok though as I only see one faint mark near the logo. Other than that the bevels look great. The edge appears to have minimal use and there is slight dulling on the tip."
"This knife is a great example of an older piece that has not been messed with. The action was still fairly decent, lockup is good. It has not been customer-adjusted and you can tell that by the screw. Sometimes you can tell before taking the screw out (you can feel if my loctite is still good to go or has been broken). You can also tell by the fact there are no tool marks from customers trying to adjust it.
Washers look great. Its had a ton of openings and closing (determined by the detent track).
Neat old piece.
This knife was most likely made when I only had my disc grinder and a lathe. No belt grinder or mill. I used to do the lockbar cuts on my lathe with a fixture I made to hold the frames."Todd Rexford (April 2017)
