A little background.... Christian Wimpff was extremely well regarded in the early '90s as a true innovator in folders. He was routinely referred to as the "European Michael Walker", and was the only other person who was capable of making zipper blades back then! He was also professionally trained as an industrial engineer. He stopped knifemaking when Mercedes Benz hired him to work full time on their car design!
This knife is his trademark Wharnie Folder that is surprisingly elegant in its simplicity. It was also one of the first ever to use Carbon/Kevlar Fiber, making it a true rarity.
If you hold it, you'll see what I mean. I believe they sold new for around $1250, although I might be low.
Very hard to find piece from one of the best!
